The International Business Forum (IBF) was created by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) in order to raise awareness among enterprises regarding their impact in the field of sustainable development and poverty reduction.
16th IBF was organized on 23rd and 24th of October in Istanbul. This year's topic was Green and Inclusive Business – Exploring and Developing Markets for Sustainable Growth. IBF gathered over 200 representatives of business and finance sector, government and non-government organizations, including fea's representative. The main purpose of the Forum was to identify opportunities for compliance of commercial and development objectives, and to enable cooperation between business, private and public sector. Participants took part in lots of workshops, where they had the opportunity to participate in discussions and to gain new skills, connect with other participants, and to exchange their experiences and ideas. So, the main slogan was «Learn, Connect, Share».
As organizers want to make forum interesting for its participants, they organized, besides workshops and panel discussions, a lot of other contents. Among other, entrepreneurs whose business ideas were developed under the principles of sustainable development were awarded. Three first place awards were granted to entrepreneurs from India and Peru.
All participants had the opportunity to participate in training sessions, which were organized on 21st, 22nd and 25th October. Topics included Social Entreprenurship, Principles of CSR, etc.
In addition, organizers have tried to capture the spirit of Istanbul, through meetings that were organized after the official part.
fea's representative attended on both days of IBF, and took part in discussions and workshops. Besides, she participated on a training session «The Application of Business Models in Social Entrepreneurship», so we will try to apply acquired knowledge in our business. Also, we hope that we will make contacts and eventually build a cooperation with other participants.
