UNCCD NAP Alignment Process in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The project “Support to Bosnia and Herzegovina for development of National Action Programme (NAP) aligned to the UNCCD 10-Year Strategy and Reporting Process under UNCCD” aims at facilitating access to GEF funding by Bosnia and Herzegovina for Enabling Activities to meet its obligations under the UNCCD: a) NAP development in line with 10-Year Strategy and. b) Reporting and review process.
The Project aims to assist Bosnia and Herzegovina in formulating the first ever NAP, which would be in line with the UNCCD 10-Year Strategy resulting in improved planning and monitoring of UNCCD implementation at the national level for better decision making on DLDD and sustainable land management issues.
Drafting of the NAP has already started with the First Expert Group Meeting which took place on April 4, 2013 in Sarajevo.
The Second Expert Group Meeting was held on May 13 2013 in Mostar.
19 - 20 June 2013 a joint Stakeholder Meeting was held together with the NBSAP processes.
Third Expert Meeting was held on 26 August 2013 in Sarajevo.
Final and Fourth Expert Meeting was organized in Banja Luka on 31 October 2013. Together with the Meeting started the preparations for the Second Draft. During the Meeting new information and knowledge from the NAP Alignment training were presented. fea participated the training which took place in Windhoek, Namibia before the opening of the UNCCD COP11 in September 2013 organized by the UNCCD Secretariat.
