DESCRIPTION

fea together with the partner organisation Danish Forestry Extension (DFE) is implementing project “Mobilizing smallholder forest owners and building a foundation for civil society strengthening and organizing through their engagement in local forest owners association(s) in Bosnia and Herzegovina”,  financed by the Civil Society in Development (CISU) under the Eastern Neighbour Civil Society Fund. fea is engaged as local partner organisation of DFE in order to implement Pilot Project for the Canton Sarajevo. 

The project intervention will take place in Bosnia and Hercegovina (BiH). The intervention will take place in the larger government unit, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) of where approximately 80% of the forestland is government owned forests and 20% is under smallholder ownership.

Project is funded by Civil Society in Development (CISU) which is an independent association of 280+ small and medium-sized Danish Civil Society Organisations (CSOs).

OBJECTIVES

Through establishment of a strong partnership between fea and DFE, the overall purpose of the Project will be to gain better knowledge about shared problems or challenges to analyse the smallholder forestry sector in Canton Sarajevo and capacitating forest owners to establish local forest owners association(s).
