fea held two workshops on sustainable private sector forestry

In the frame of Project Mobilizing smallholder forest owners and building a foundation for civil society strengthening and organizing through their engagement in local forest owners association(s) in Bosnia and Herzegovina fea team in cooperation with project partner Danish Forestry Extension (DFE) organized and held 2 workshops with key stakeholders, on October 31 and November 2, 2017.
Together with about 30 private forest owners, we discussed key issues and problems in managing private forests and establishment of association of private forest owners in Canton Sarajevo.
A good practice from Denmark and experiences from Lithuania, Nepal and Vietnam were presented by Mr.Karsten Raae, a representative of the DFE. Presentations were also delivered by representatives of existing forest associations in BiH:
- Association of private forest owners NAŠA ŠUMA Banja Luka
- Association of owners of private forests and nature lovers "Forests for the future" Binježevo.
Project is funded by the Civil Society in Development (CISU) under the Eastern Neighbour Civil Society Fund. CISU is an independent association of 280+ small and medium-sized Danish Civil Society Organisations (CSOs). fea is engaged as local partner organisation of DFE in order to implement Pilot Project for the Canton Sarajevo.
