Summary of the project:
The project's primary objective was to address air pollution in the Sarajevo Canton through a comprehensive approach.
This involved establishing collaborations with relevant institutions and organizations, raising public awareness through social media campaigns and educational workshops, distributing informative materials, conducting advocacy activities in partnership with the
Public Utility Company "Sarajevo – šume" Ltd. Sarajevo, and creating a program for the supply of properly prepared firewood to the local population. Through these activities, the project aimed to enhance environmental protection and reduce air pollution, ultimately contributing to improved air quality in the Sarajevo Canton.
The successful implementation of this project also paved the way for potential replication in other cantons within the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Project goals
General goal: Improving environmental protection and contributing to air pollution reduction in the Sarajevo Canton (KS) through the regulation of distribution and enhancement of the quality of dry firewood.
Specific goals:
Increase public awareness about the issue of air pollution and the benefits of using properly prepared firewood.
Establish collaboration with key institutions and organizations

Establishing collaboration with key institutions and organizations relevant to this project.
Raising public awareness through social media promotion (creating a set of visuals and infographics).
Organizing and conducting educational workshops for local communities in the Sarajevo Canton to familiarize them with air pollution and the possibilities of using properly prepared firewood.
Creating and distributing educational materials (brochures and leaflets).
Advocacy activities structured through close cooperation with the Public Utility Company "Sarajevo – šume" Ltd. Sarajevo, aimed at promoting the use of properly prepared firewood to improve air quality.
Developing a firewood supply program for the population in Sarajevo Canton.
