Summary of the project:


The project supports the establishment of a country-wide environmental reporting system in Bosnia and

Herzegovina, aligned with EU requirements and international obligations.



FEA role and scope of services:


FEA provides expert support and backstopping for the Nature and Biodiversity and Land Use

components, contributing to strengthening national capacities for environmental reporting.



The scope of FEA’s services includes:

  • Backstopping support for Nature and Biodiversity data flows within the national reporting system

  • Expert input on reporting obligations related to EEA, EIONET, EUROSTAT, and international conventions

  • Analysis and structuring of key data flows, including:

– Designation types of protected areas

– Emerald Network

– Natura 2000 (Habitats and Birds Directives – SCIs/SACs/SPAs)

– Nationally designated areas (NatDA)

– Reporting under Article 12 (Birds Directive) and Article 17 (Habitats Directive)

– Reporting under Resolution No. 8 (2012)

– Corine Land Cover (CLC)

  • Support to institutional coordination and clarification of roles across competent authorities

  • Delivery of capacity-building activities, including mentoring and hands-on support for government institutions

  • Contribution to the development of guidance documents and tools for standardized reporting
