Summary of the project:
The project supports the establishment of a country-wide environmental reporting system in Bosnia and
Herzegovina, aligned with EU requirements and international obligations.
FEA role and scope of services:
FEA provides expert support and backstopping for the Nature and Biodiversity and Land Use
components, contributing to strengthening national capacities for environmental reporting.
The scope of FEA’s services includes:
Backstopping support for Nature and Biodiversity data flows within the national reporting system
Expert input on reporting obligations related to EEA, EIONET, EUROSTAT, and international conventions
Analysis and structuring of key data flows, including:
– Designation types of protected areas
– Emerald Network
– Natura 2000 (Habitats and Birds Directives – SCIs/SACs/SPAs)
– Nationally designated areas (NatDA)
– Reporting under Article 12 (Birds Directive) and Article 17 (Habitats Directive)
– Reporting under Resolution No. 8 (2012)
– Corine Land Cover (CLC)
Support to institutional coordination and clarification of roles across competent authorities
Delivery of capacity-building activities, including mentoring and hands-on support for government institutions
Contribution to the development of guidance documents and tools for standardized reporting
