Successfully completed the implementation of the project "Green Roofs of Sarajevo - Sustainable Space during Pandemic Situations"

Forestry and Environmental Action - fea has recently successfully completed the implementation of the project "Green Roofs of Sarajevo - Sustainable Space during Pandemic Situations". The main outcome of this project was the creation and greening of a rooftop garden at the Hasan Kikić Elementary School in Sarajevo, resulting in a pleasant and sustainable space, a wonderful place for learning and outdoor activities. 

This project promotes the improvement of the quality of the environment in cities, the increase of green areas in the urban core, the reduction of the heat island effect, the improvement of air quality and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions through the piloting of green roofs and roof gardens. 

The project is the result of a partnership that has been built and expanded over the past 2.5 years, serving as a true example of mutual support and vision: UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic, UNDP Challenge Fund, Czech Development Agency, Municipality of Centar Sarajevo, UNDP Accelerator Labs, Hasan Kikić Elementary School Sarajevo, NGO Empress, Forestry and Environmental Action - FEA.
