From March to November 2022, Forestry and Environmental Action - FEA successfully implemented the project "Action for a Greener City Park Betanija" with the aim of improving the ecological, sanitary, and aesthetic characteristics of the City Park Betanija. The project was implemented as part of the Regional Program on Local Democracy in the Western Balkans 2 - ReLOaD2, supported by the European Union in Bosnia and Herzegovina and implemented by UNDP Bosnia and Herzegovina in cooperation with the Municipality of Centar.Â
Through a series of activities, the following results were achieved:Â
greening of the City Park Betanija with tree species adapted to the existing ecological conditions in the City Park,Â
development of a digital interactive map of the park and 10 informative boards about the importance of greenery in urban areas,Â
implementation of educational workshops for elementary school students focusing on connecting children with nature and raising awareness about environmental protection,Â
conducting a survey questionnaire among residents of the local communities Betanija and Å ip to obtain feedback on their involvement and satisfaction with the project.Â
This project has resulted in positive changes in the City Park Betanija, contributing to nature conservation and raising awareness about the importance of urban green spaces.Â
